A small manufacturer of medical devices needed to create a
schematic and a printed circuit board layout of one of their
products. According to the engineer that contacted me, the original
designer had left the company and did not leave the CAD
documentation. Unfortunately, this does occasionally happen.
I agreed to create a schematic in OrCAD from a paper schematic
that was left in the engineering file. I also handled the layout of
the new printed circuit board. I worked with the customer to ensure
the schematic was correct. He also sent me one of their enclosures
so I could guarantee the board and components would fit properly. I
made a few improvements in form and fit, and when my client was
satisfied with the job, I delivered the final documentation.
